Mold Assembly
During this phase, the mold is fitted, aligned, and secured onto the injection molding machine so that it can function correctly during the injection molding process. This involves ensuring that the mold is properly aligned with the machine's clamping unit, setting up any necessary cooling or heating elements, and making adjustments to ensure that the injection molding process will produce the desired plastic parts accurately and consistently. Proper mold setup is crucial for achieving high-quality and efficient production in plastic manufacturing.
Injection Molding
Injection molding is a manufacturing process that allows for parts to be produced in large volumes. It works by injecting molten materials into a mold (or ‘mould’). It is typically used as a mass production process to manufacture thousands of identical items. Injection molding materials include metals glasses elastomers and confections although it is most commonly used with thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers.
